Services

There are three main services which are key to the South West WARP. Brief descriptions are provided here, but for more information see page for each service.

Advice Brokering

The advice brokering service allows members to ask their peers questions, and also to share their knowledge with them.

This mechanism also allows the WARP Operator(s) to share their knowledge with the WARP members, and also allows them to facilitate useful discussion about security threats, best practice and to her issues.

Filtered Warnings

The aim of this service is to provide the SWWARP community with e-mail alerts about security threats and relevant news items. The WARP Operators subscribe to a number of news sources, including CESG, and CSIRT, and disseminate relevant alerts via e-mail in a timely manner.

We also benefit from peer-to-peer links with other WARPs allowing us to share alerts.

Some of these alerts are then discussed by members using the advice brokering service.

Trusted Sharing

This facility is used to enable members to share information about security breaches, or any other incident with other member authorities. The information can be anonymised at the member's request. The information is shared with the WARP operator, who will turn the information into a Filtered Warning or a discussion.
